Zara CIS pays over 2 bln rubles in dividends in 2012
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Russian clothing retailer Zara CIS, which is owned by Spanish Inditex, paid 2.013 billion rubles in dividends to the parent company in 2012, according to the SPARK-Interfax database.
Zara CIS boosted revenue 26.3% to 16.460 billion rubles in 2012, up from 13.061 billion rubles in 2011, when revenue grew 16%.
Gross profit rose to 9.993 billion rubles in 2012 from 7.769 billion rubles in 2011. Net profit increased to 3.267 billion rubles from 2.269 billion rubles.
Inditex has over 6,000 stores in its network, including 1,763 in the Zara chain. The company has 345 stores in Russia, including 69 Zara, 19 Zara Home, 60 Bershka and 47 Oysho.
Amancio Ortega, 77, the owner of about 60% of Inditex, displaced Warren Buffet last year to become the third richest person in the world, according to Forbes. Ortega's fortune increased by $19.5 billion in the latest year to $57 billion.
