Prokhorov has no intention of becoming Moscow business ombudsman - source
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Mikhail Prokhorov, leader of the party Civil Platform, has no plans to become Moscow business ombudsman.
"With a high degree of probability, Prokhorov will not nominate himself for the post of business ombudsman as proposed by Sobyanin," a source in the party told Interfax on Thursday.
The source would not name the candidacies considered by Prokhorov.
Sergei Sobyanin earlier told reporters a new post called business ombudsman had been created in Moscow and suggested that Civil Platform nominate a candidate for it, whom we "would gladly back."
Prokhorov said on NTV television on Thursday that Civil Platform had agreed to nominate its candidate for the post of Moscow business ombudsman.
"We are the right party to do that because Civil Platform has the most businessmen of all parties present on the platform," Prokhorov said.
Prokhorov said the party is ready to use any opportunity to help businessmen. The party will decide on a candidate for the post of Moscow business ombudsman in the next few days.
