Russian govt approves agriculture subsidy distribution for 2013

MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - The Russian government has confirmed the distribution of certain types of agriculture subsidies in 2013.

A resolution on subsidies for regional programs to develop beef cattle farming puts the amount of government support at 2 billion rubles, of which 1.83 billion rubles has been distributed. The remaining 172 million rubles will go to supporting additional regional programs to develop beef cattle farming after their selection, government documents say.

Almost 844.8 million rubles worth of subsidies went to Bryansk region, where a major beef production project is underway. Kabardino-Balkaria will receive 137.5 million rubles, Voronezh region -90.9 million and Kaliningrad region - 82.7 million rubles.

The government has also allocated subsidies for creating and developing farms and one-off payments for the establishment of farms. These subsidies total 2 billion rubles, including a leftover amount of 272 million rubles, 1.88 million rubles that was not required by Magadan region and 0.65 million rubles that was not secured by Yaroslavl region financing.

The Chechen Republic received 195.9 million for the development of farms, Dagestan received 165.3 million, Rostov region - 91.1 million, Kabadino-Balkaria - 79.7 million rubles, Bashkortostan - 63.8 million rubles, Altai territory - 52.4 million and Stavropol territory - 41.3 million rubles.

Subsidies for family livestock farms was set at 1.5 billion rubles. Of this, Rostov region was allocated 68.7 million rubles, Dagestan - 60.6 million rubles, Mordovia - 55.8 million rubles, the Chechen Republic - 52.1 million rubles, Bashkortostan - 49.6 million rubles and Penza region - 34.4 million rubles.

The government also confirmed the distribution of subsidies for crop farming and meat and dairy farming. These funds subsidize interest rates on short-term loans. The Russian government will allocate 19.2 billion rubles to subsidize loans for crop farming and 4.09 billion for livestock farming.

These subsidies include funds additionally allocated this year to subsidize loans to develop crop farming of 12 billion rubles and a leftover of 948.2 million rubles for crop farming and 539.2 million rubles for livestock farming.

Voronezh region was allocated 2.25 billion rubles, Belgorod - 1.98-billion, Krasnodar territory - 1.79 billion, Rostov region - 1.24 billion, Kemerovo region - 1 billion rubles and Lipetsk region - 670.2 million rubles.
