Man killed in ammunition explosion near Ashuluk testing ground

ASTRAKHAN. Aug 9 (Interfax) - A resident of the Astrakhan region was killed in an ammunition explosion in the Kharabalinsky district near the testing ground Ashuluk on Friday, the press service for the Interior Ministry's regional department, told Interfax.

The accident occurred when the man was collecting scrap metal, the report says.

"The victim was a local resident. He came to the ammunition disposal site to collect scrap metal," the press service reported.

The Interior Ministry's department for the region reported earlier on Friday that a man had been killed in an ammunition explosion in the in the Kharabalinsky district near the testing ground Ashuluk.
