Russian, U.S. foreign, defense chiefs start negotiations in Washington
WASHINGTON. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Negotiations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel have begun in Washington.
Following the 2+2 talks, Lavrov and Kerry are set to have a bilateral meeting.
Interfax has learned that no general press conference is planned to sum up the outcome of the 2+2 talks, and only Lavrov and Shoigu are supposed to talk to the press. At the same time, U.S. President Barack Obama will give a press conference dealing with relations with Russia and the situation surrounding former CIA employee Edward Snowden.
