Tehran responds positively to talks with P5+1 in Kazakhstan - Foreign Ministry

ASTANA. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Tehran has responded positively to the proposal to hold the next round of its negotiations with P5+1 in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Kairat Sarybai said.

"The dialogue maintained [during the recent Iranian visit of the Kazakh president] and the establishment of relations with the new Iranian president will make it possible to continue the constructive cooperation that has taken shape through the years of our independence," he told a Monday press briefing at the Central Communications Service in Astana.

The deputy minister recalled that Kazakhstan had twice played host to the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program and said, "Kazakhstan plans to continue rendering logistic services; we are also prepared to make a more profound contribution to the negotiations if that is necessary."

"The Iranian reaction to our proposition has been very positive. I am aware of the positive attitude of some members of the international sextet. We are waiting for the formation of the Iranian government, after which P5+1 and Iran will choose a venue for their next meeting," the deputy minister said.
