Kazakhstan to install pollution sensors in Caspian Sea

AKTAU. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Sensors for monitoring oil pollution in the water will be installed in the Caspian Sea by the end of this year, acting head of the fisheries' committee at Kazakhstan's Ministry of Environmental Protection Kaiyrbek Musabayev said at an international forum on preserving the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea in Aktau in the Mangistau region.

"Pollution data will be supplied in online mode. The job is being carried out together with Finnish experts. The first three buoy stations are to be installed by the end of the year," he said.

This monitoring equipment will help form a comprehensive database of observation results throughout the sea, he said.
