Baku, Moscow have similar positions on key issues - Azeri president
BAKU. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said Baku's and Moscow's positions coincide on all of the key issues.
"We attach serious importance to this visit and we have exchanged opinions today on a wide spectrum of issues of mutual interest. The agenda of our relations is extensive, and our cooperation is diversified and embraces virtually all spheres: economic interaction, humanitarian cooperation, transportation and regional security," Aliyev said at an expanded meeting during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit.
The Azeri president underscored the crucial point that Putin's visit was an additional opportunity to discuss ways to promote bilateral relations, as well as regional policy.
"I am glad you are being accompanied by a representative delegation, whose composition points to the aspects we deem important," Aliyev said.
The Azeri president said Putin's visit to Baku will help promote friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in all areas, "and draw our countries closer together."
