Rosneft to re-evaluate Vankor reserves by March 2014
MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Rosneft plans to update its geological model of the horizons at the Vankor oil and gas condensate field using new data obtained in production well drilling in order to re-evaluate recoverable reserves of oil, gas and condensate at the field and register them with the State Reserves Commission, the Russian oil major said in materials.
The RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft LLC research institute has conducted a study for 1.1 million rubles in order to pinpoint the geometric parameters of the productive horizons based on new geological and geophysical data and fine-tune parameters using core samples and physical and chemical characteristics of horizon fluids using data from the wells. The institute will subsequently defend its reserve estimates at the State Reserves Commission.
Vankor is located in the Turukhansky district of Krasnoyarsk territory. Recoverable reserves total 482 million tonnes of oil. The field yielded 18.3 million tonnes of oil in 2012. Rosneft plans to produce 25 million tonnes of oil at the field this year.
