Moscow, Baku agree on cooperation in humanitarian sphere
BAKU. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Russia and Azerbaijan have signed a number of bilateral documents, including those on cooperation in civil defense, emergency situations and the containment of the consequences of disasters and on cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
A comprehensive plan on cooperation between the Russian and Azerbaijani emergency ministries in 2013-2015 has been signed in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov have signed a cooperation program in the humanitarian sphere between the two countries that is effective until 2015.
The relations of Azerbaijan and Russia are predictable and stable and can serve as an example for other countries of the region, Aliyev said at a joint news conference following talks. Solicitous attitude to the Russian language and culture in Azerbaijan play a special part in enhancing the relations, he said.
