Politkovskaya's children resume participation in trial
MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The children of Russian investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was assassinated in 2006, have agreed to resume their participation in their mother's murder trial, Politkovskaya's son Ilya told Interfax.
"We closely followed the trial even though we were not present in the courtroom. And we realized that the legal team defending the suspects was actively taking advantage of our absence. A number of human rights campaigners asked us in their letter to return to the trial in an effort to guarantee its impartiality," Ilya Politkovsky said.
"I am already in the Moscow City Court," he said.
