Russian emergency ministry ready to evacuate Russians from Egypt, no order yet
MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The order to bring Russian citizens on holiday in Egypt back to Russia has not been issued and the Russian emergency ministry will be ready to do so if the relevant order is given.
"This issue is within the competence of the Foreign Ministry. If we get an order from the country's leaders to bring Russians home, we will be ready to carry out this task at the highest level," the ministry's spokesperson Irina Rossius told Interfax.
The ministry's forces are in a state of three-hour readiness, Rossius said.
Meanwhile, such orders have not been issued so far, she said.
It has been reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry had urged Russian citizens to refrain from going to Egypt due to the escalation of the domestic situation in this country.
