Everything is calm at Egyptian resorts - Egyptian Embassy in Russia

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The Egyptian Embassy in Russia is disappointed with the Russian Foreign Ministry's recommendations to Russian citizens not to visit Egypt.

"We were disappointed and surprised by the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement," Ezzeldin Shahin, the head of the press office of the Egyptian Embassy, told Interfax.

"It's very calm at Egyptian resorts," the diplomat said, adding that here has not been a single report on any incidents involving Russians or other tourists in Egypt.

Shahin also said the recent clashes in Hurgada occurred several kilometers from the place where tourists are.

At the same time, Shahin reiterated that the curfew imposed by the Egyptian authorities does not apply to the resort Sharm el-Sheikh.
