Captain of hovercraft that collided with barge in Omsk says had vodka the day before
NOVOSIBIRSK. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The captain of the hovercraft Polesye-8, who has admitted his guilt in the shipwreck, said he had alcohol the day before the tragedy.
"He told the court he admits his guilt and had 200 or 300 rams of vodka the day before," Anton Chernyshov, senior assistant to the head of the Western Siberian investigations department on transport of the Investigations Committee, told Interfax.
Chernyshov also said the captain has said he had not undergone a medical evaluation.
Chernyshov also said the vessel's documents indicate that it was in a good condition. "A forensic evaluation will show if it's so or not," he said.
