One more train to run between Tallinn, St. Petersburg

TALLINN. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Estonian railroad company GoRail is putting a second train on the Tallinn-St. Petersburg line in collaboration with FPK, part of the Russian Railways (RZD) group.

The second train will begin its maiden journey this week setting off from Tallinn on August 22, GoRail said in a statement.

"The two trains on the Tallinn-St. Petersburg line will supplement each other time-wise, with both morning and afternoon departures in both directions," the statement quoted GoRail chief executive Alar Pinsel as saying.

The launching of one more train would encourage thousands more Estonian tourists to visit St. Petersburg, Pinsel argued.

The journey on the GoRail trains takes six and a half hours, including the time spent at customs and passport control, which is conducted on the train.
