Navalny files complaint with court against Sobyanin - campaign manager
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny filed a compliant with the Moscow City Court on Tuesday which aims to get acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin removed from the mayoral election race.
"The compliant has been filed," Navalny's campaign manager Leonid Volkov told Interfax on Tuesday.
The date of the hearings has not yet been set, he said.
Volkov also said that Navalny was not satisfied with Moscow Election Commission Chairman Valentin Gorbunov's statement that Sobyanin had submitted President Vladimir Putin's written approval of his joining the mayoral election race with the Moscow Election Commission alongside all other documents.
"We want to see it," Volkov said.
Navalny earlier said he would make a formal complaint about Sobyanin's refusal to publish Putin's written approval of his registration as a mayoral candidate.
