Econ Minister Ulyukayev foresees positive development of trade relations with U.S.
MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev sees a "fruitful dialog" taking shape in Russia's trade relations with the U.S. that will produce positive results.
Ulyukayev made the comment to Interfax following talks with U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Brunei on Wednesday.
"We believe the goal of these contracts, including my contacts with Mr. Froman, the U.S. trade representative, is to lay a solid basis for trade cooperation, cooperation in investment, that would bring stability to our relations, so that they are less vulnerable to the circumstances of the moment and could have stable development on a durable economic foundation," Ulyukayev said.
"It seems to me that we have a fairly fruitful dialog taking shape and we are justified in expecting positive results," he said.
Ulyukayev said he also held bilateral meetings at the summit with his counterparts from China, India and Japan.
