Russia reduces mineral fertilizer output 2% in 7M
MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - Russian chemical companies reduced mineral fertilizer production by 2% year-on-year to 10.6 million tonnes in January-July 2013, according to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In July alone, fertilizer output was level with the same period of last year at 1.5 million tonnes.
Russian chemical companies raised phosphate fertilizer production by 0.4% to 1.85 million tonnes in January-July, and they increased nitrogen fertilizer output by 2.6% to 4.89 million tonnes. At the same time, they produced 8.4% less potash fertilizers, at 3.84 million tonnes.
Ammonia production grew 5.5% to 8.65 million tonnes in the first seven months of this year, whereas sulfuric acid output dropped 6.5% to 6 million tonnes.
