Medvedev to discuss preparations for Sept 8 elections with United Russia

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - Preparations for the single election day will be the focus of the meeting Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will have with the United Russia party leaders on August 22, Medvedev's press secretary Natalia Timakova said.

The upcoming meeting is a regular occurrence and Medvedev, who heads the United Russia party, usually conducts events of such a format once a month, Timakova said.

"The main topic of the meeting is the preparations for the single election day on September 8, the pre-election situation and conditions in regions where elections are held," Timakova said.
