Over 23,000 people evacuated from flooded regions of Far East - Emergency Ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - Over 23,000 people have been evacuated in Russia's Far East due to floods.
"As of now, a total of over 23,000 people, including 7,500 children, have been evacuated," Vladimir Stepanov, head of the Emergency Ministry's National Crisis Management Center, said at a meeting on Friday.
The number of houses flooded is growing, Stepanov said.
It has already been decided to bring additional food supplies to the region, Stepanov said.
