Moscow police this year solve ten times more crimes committed by ethnic criminal groups
MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - This year the Moscow police solved ten times more crimes committed by ethnic criminal groups than in 2012, Head of the Russian Interior Ministry's Main Department for Moscow Anatoly Yakunin said on Friday.
"A total of 805 crimes committed by organized ethnic criminal groups have been solved," Yakunin said at a Moscow government meeting on Friday.
In 2012, a total of 89 similar crimes were solved, which is nearly ten times fewer, Yakunin said.
"The number of active members of ethnic groups detained grew by 600 [in comparison with 2012]," the official said.
Meanwhile, acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at the meeting: "Anatoly Ivanovich, not all come to Moscow to enjoy its historic beauty. I keep receiving complaints from Moscow citizens that many migrants break the law, behave aggressively, sometimes rudely, many do not comply with the Criminal Code."
