Russian embassy sends note to Belarusian foreign ministry seeking meeting with Baumgertner

MINSK. August 26 (Interfax) - The Russian Embassy has sent a note to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry asking that it organize a meeting with Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner detained in Minsk on Monday.

"We prepared and sent a note to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry requesting that they organize a meeting of consular officers with Russian citizen Vladislav Baumgertner who was detained in Minsk," counselor of the Russian Embassy to Belarus Vladimir Marchukov told Interfax.

"So far, we have not received official reports on this incident [the detention of Baumgertner] from either the Belarusian Foreign Ministry or the Investigative Committee," he said.
