SCAC, Lithuania's AviaAM Leasing sign letter of intent to buy five SSJ 100 jets
ZHUKOVSKY. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Lithuania's AviaAM Leasing have signed a letter of intent for the purchase of five Sukhoi SuperJet 100 airliners, an Interfax correspondent reported from the signing ceremony.
The company have agreed on potential cooperation in promoting the SSJ 100 family of airliners on the world market.
AviaAM Leasing chief executive Tadas Goberis told reporters that there are plans to supply these airplanes to Russian airlines, but in future the portfolio of orders for SSJ 100 jets could be increased to supply them to CIS countries and Africa.
SCAC chief executive Andrei Kalinovsky said that at this stage this was a letter of intent, but that a firm contract for these five planes could be signed soon and delivery would begin next year. The ordered planes are worth a total of $100 million.
