Plans pertinent to winter period settled with Gazprom - Ukrainian deputy PM

KYIV. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Gazprom have agreed plans for the fall and winter period, the press service to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yuriy Boyko said after talks with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller on Wednesday.

"The parties have settled the question of the planned passing-through of the fall-winter period as regards the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine and the provision of gas to Ukrainian consumers," the press service said.

Other details of the agreement were not specified.

Gazprom had been pushing Ukraine to increase the volume of gas pumped into underground storage ahead of the cold season to increase the guarantee of transit, but Kyiv balked at doing so on its own money.
