UNSC should heed Russia's reports on chemical arms use in Syria - diplomat
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich has called on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to heed both the UN inspectors' conclusions and a report to be compiled by Russian specialists as it discusses the issue of possible chemical weapons use in Syria.
"The [UN] Security Council ought to hold a comprehensive debate on any possible instances of chemical arms use. It needs to take account of both the UN experts' upcoming conclusions and a report prepared by Russian specialists who conducted inspections in Khan al-Assal. The results of these inspections were verified by laboratories certified by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons," Lukashevich said in a commentary on Thursday.
