Russia may take add'l safety steps concerning imports from Belarus - Fyodorov

MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Russia have to might make some decisions regarding additional safety guarantees in regards to food product imports from Belarus, Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov told the press in Tula on Tuesday.

"Decision might be made that are aimed at securing additional safety guarantees for products delivered from Belarus," Fyodorov said.

Citing specialists and agencies involved - notably Russia's Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) and Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor), the minister said, "There are instances of not very correct re-exports in the guise of Belarusian product."
