Two Russian naval ships to reach destination in Mediterranean by Sept 5-6

MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The Novocherkassk landing ship belonging to Russia's Black Sea Fleet and the Minsk landing ship (the Baltic Fleet), which departed from a Black Sea Fleet base earlier on Tuesday, are heading for the Bosporus and Dardanelles to reach a designated point in the Mediterranean, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists on Tuesday.

"Passing the straits on September 5-6, the landing ships are to arrive in the designated area in the Mediterranean and start performing their duties in line with the plans of the offshore maritime zone operational command deployed on board the Pacific Fleet's Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine vessel," it said.
