China to acquire share in Kashagan project - Xi Jinping

ASTANA. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and China have achieved an agreement under which China will acquire an interest in the Kashagan offshore oil field development project, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.

"The two parties have achieved an agreement on China's participatory interest in the development of the Kashagan field. This agreement is welcomed and supported by the two governments," Xi said at a press conference following negotiations with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana on Saturday.
