Sobyanin gains 51.33%, Navalny 27.27 % in Moscow mayoral election - latest data

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has 51.33% of the vote and opposition activist Alexei Navalny ranks second with 27.27 %, the Moscow city elections commission said.

Communist Party candidate Ivan Melnikov has 10.7 %, Yabloko's Sergei Mitrokhin has 3.51%, Mikhail Degtyaryov of the Liberal Democratic Party has 2.86% and Nikolai Levichev of A Just Russia has 2.79 %.

This means there will be no second round in the Moscow mayoral election.

The election turnout stood at approximately 32%.

Moscow city elections commission chairman Valentin Gorbunov will give more detailed information about the count of votes at a press conference at 10 a.m.
