Russia will not turn Kerimov over to Belarus on any circumstances - deputy prosecutor general
MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office is not planning to extradite Federation Council member Suleiman Kerimov to Belarus, on which Minsk is insisting.
"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office's position regarding the extradition of its citizens abroad remains unchanged. In line with our constitution, we do not extradite Russian citizens abroad," Deputy Prosecutor Alexander Zvyagintsev said when asked whether Belarus's request for Kerimov's extradition could be granted.
Asked whether the prosecutors could revise their position if Belarus presents trustworthy evidence of Kerimov's criminal activities, Zvyagintsev replied. "No. We don't make any exceptions, including for allied countries."
