Geneva consultations almost deliver non-use of force pact - OSCE envoy

SUKHUMI. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The UN, EU and OSCE cochairmen of the Geneva consultations on South Caucasus security discussed a non-use of force pact and the agenda of the 25th round of consultations scheduled for November with Abkhazian Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba in Sukhumi on Friday.

The OSCE envoy, Andrii Deshchytsia, said they were about to end the elaboration of the non-use of force document but each side still had its reservations. A compromise may yield a document to everyone's satisfaction, he said.

Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoryev told reporters earlier that the Abkhazian and Georgian participants in the Geneva consultations were close to assuming mutual commitments of the non-use of force but it was not the question of full normalization of their relations.
