Belarus could extradite Baumgertner to Russia for investigative procedures - source
MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - After Belarus provides the Russian Prosecutor General's Office with materials on the Uralkali case regarding Russian citizens, the issue of the extradition of Uralkali General Director Vladislav Baumgartner, who is in a KGB detention facility, will raise, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax on Monday.
"As soon as Russian investigators get materials from their Belarusian colleagues, the issue of extraditing Baumgertner to Moscow to perform investigative procedures could rise," the source said.
At the same time, it is possible that at a certain stage Russian investigators could come to Minsk to work with Baumgertner on site, the source said.
"The question of Baumgertner's extradition will be decided during talks between two prosecutor's offices and, possibly, at a political level," the source said.
