French minister sees UN experts' report as proof of al-Assad regime's role in Aug 21 attack
MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - The UN experts' report published on Monday indicates that President Bashar al-Assad's regime was responsible for the chemical attack in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said.
"In our opinion, this report proves the Bashar al-Assad regime's responsibility for the August 21 chemical attack. We have already said that," Fabius said at a press conference in Moscow.
"The UN secretary general said that this report exposes the regime" as far as the use of chemical weapons is concerned, the French minister said.
France's foreign intelligence service reported the same earlier, he added.
