Belarus hopes to raise $2.5 bln from privatization in 2014
MINSK. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Belarus expects to raise around $2.5 billion from the privatization of government assets in 2014, State Property Committee First Deputy Chairman Sergei Pyatkov told the press in Minsk Thursday.
Belarus aims to raise $4 billion in direct investment and $2.5 billion from privatization, he said.
The companies that are up for privatization are known and information for potential investors can be found on the committee website, he said. In principle any company could be privatized if there is an interesting proposal, he added.
"Several billion Belarusian rubles have been received this year from privatization," he added.
Belarusian authorities plan to raise $2.5 billion from privatization in 2013.
