Naftogaz may up reverse gas imports by 1 bcm in 2013
KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy has signed a new contract to import natural gas in reverse, which will make it possible for the country to buy an additional one billion cubic meters (bcm) this year, Deputy Prime Minister Yuriy Boyko told Interfax.
"Naftogaz has signed a new contract. Perhaps one billion cubic meters of additional gas this year, if the price suits us," Boyko said.
According to the forecast natural gas balance for 2013 approved by the government, Ukraine expects to import 27.3 bcm of gas this year, including 18 bcm from Russia's Gazprom , 8 bcm from Dmytro Firtash's Cyprus-registered OstChem and 1.3 bcm from RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.
