Azneft plans to up 2015 oil production to 7.1 mln tonnes

BAKU. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Annual oil production by Azneft, the production arm of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), will reach 7.1 million tonnes in 2015, The company's vice president for oil and gas production, Rakhman Gurbanov, said in an interview given to the corporate publication Iki Sahil.

"In accordance with the adopted program, in 2013 Azneft oil production volume is planned at 6.8 million tonnes, in 2014 - 6.9 million tonnes, in 2015 - 7.1 million tonnes. At the present time, hard work is being done on realizing this program," Gurbanov said. This will mean 4.4% production growth in 2015.

In the shallow-water part of the Gunashli deposit, the plan for this year is to complete the building of platform #7 and put it to work, and commission a compressor station on platform #4. At the deposit Neftyaniye Kamni, two deepwater maritime foundations are to be put into operation along with two support structures. Two platforms are to be built and new wells drilled using new equipment and technology at the Western Absheron deposit.

"Furthermore, in 2014-2015 in shallow-water Gunashli the plan is to effect the building of two deepwater maritime foundations for the drilling of twenty well, at the deposit Neftyaniye Kamni - the construction of four foundations and two support structures, and at Western Absheron an Banka Darvina - the construction of six deepwater maritime foundations," Gurbanov said.

Socar oil production generally - including Azneft, joint ventures, and operating companies - amounted to 8.3 million tonnes. Azneft's commercial oil output was 6.801 million tonnes.
