Russian border guards won't be sent to Tajikistan - Bordyuzha

SOCHI. Sept 23 (Interfax-AVN) - There is no need to send Russian border guards to Tajikistan; all of Tajikistan's border formations are fully manned, the Collective Security Treaty Organization's general secretary, Nikolai Bordyuzha, said on Monday.

"The essence of our proposals boils down to equipping Tajikistan's border formations. Regarding their strength, it is sufficient," Bordyuzha said, when asked whether Russian border guards could return to Tajikistan.

The Tajik border troops are fully manned, he said.

"They must be provided with means that will allow them to control the border successfully enough and effectively to prevent the bandits from crossing," Bordyuzha said.
