Emergency regime due to weather not introduced in Sochi, no threat to population - Emergency Ministry
MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Unfavorable weather conditions do not pose threat to residents of Sochi and its suburbs, spokesperson for the Russian Emergency Ministry's Southern regional center, Irina Gogoleva, told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The water went from the Mirny village as well as from the Loo. An evacuation of residents was not necessary. The work to pump the water has been completed. There is no threat to residential areas," Gogoleva said.
Approximately 60 people and 26 pieces of equipment were engaged in mitigating the consequences of the bad weather.
The emergency regime has not been introduced in Sochi, Gogoleva said.
