Diplomats board Arctic Sunrise, investigative actions begin

MURMANSK. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Diplomats boarded Greenpeace's vessel, Arctic Sunrise, which is anchored in the harbor of the Kola Bay, the press office of the Russian FSB Border Directorate for the Murmansk region told Interfax.

"Investigative actions have begun on board. Representatives of the diplomatic missions have gone there," the press office said without specifying the number of diplomats.

Crew members are currently standing on deck and border guards are next to them, the Interfax correspondent reported.

It has been reported that, on September 19, border guards stormed the Arctic Sunrise after environmentalists attempted to hold a protest rally against oil extraction on the Prirazlomnaya platform in the Pechora Sea.
