Italian co to build ceramic granite plant in Moscow region

KRASNOGORSK. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Italy's Fiandre Iris Ceramica plans to build an innovative ceramic granite plant in Moscow region, the Moscow region Investment and Innovation Ministry said in a press release Tuesday.

Talks on the plant began in July at a meeting between the ministry, representatives of the Italian embassy in Russia and Graniti Fiandre. The investor's main requirement for the land plot where the plant will be built is that there be a rail branch nearby and a full range of engineering communications.

"Over a 10 day period the ministry's investment policy department selected seven such plots and presented to them to the investor after which visits were arranged," the release said.

Iris Ceramica President Romano Minozzi recently sent a letter with notification that the plant would be built in Stupino district.

Investment in the plant will be 2.9 billion rubles. The plant, which will create 170 new jobs, is to be completed in two years.
