Pushkov: UN resolution on Syria in striking contrast with resolution on Libya

MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - The UN Security Council resolution on Syrian chemical weapons does not authorize the use of force in contrast with the UN Security Council resolution on Libya, State Duma International Affairs Committee Chairman Alexei Pushkov said.

"The UN Security Council resolution on Syria does not authorize the use of force, which is a striking contrast with resolution 1973 regarding Libya. That is why it has gained unanimous approval," he wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

The UN Security Council passed the resolution on the disposal of Syrian chemical weapons early on Saturday morning (Moscow time).
