Brussels to host 5+2 talks on Transdniestrian conflict settlement on October 3

BRUSSELS. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Official negotiations in the 5+2 format on the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict will be held in Brussels on October 3.

The meeting in will gather representatives of the sides, mediators and observers in the negotiation process from Moldova, Transdniestria, the OSCE, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the United States and the European Union, the OSCE said in a statement posted on its official Web site.

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Conflicts Ambassador Andriy Deschytsia (Ukraine) will chair the talks.

In the frames of the talks, the Ukrainian diplomat will also open the art exhibition "Artists Building Trust" in Brussels, featuring works of artists from both sides of the Dniester River.

Official negotiations over the Transdniestrian conflict settlement were resumed in November 2011 following a six-year break.
