Ukraine values EU Commission's support of Kyiv's European integration aspirations - Yanukovych
KYIV. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine highly values the support from the European Commission for Kyiv's European integration aspirations, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.
"We value your personal support of Ukraine's aspirations for European integration and the massive amount of work you have done with us when preparing the comprehensive free trade zone agreement," Yanukovych said on Wednesday during a meeting with EU Commissioner for Trade Karel de Gucht.
De Gucht said that, considering the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, his meetings with Ukrainian leaders were extremely important.
The meetings are extremely significant considering the approaching Vilnius summit as well as resolution of issues, which will be of importance after the Association Agreement is signed, de Gucht said. This refers in particular to the temporary application of the agreement and concerns the exchange of goods, services and investments, the European commissioner said.
It is very important that Ukraine benefit from the Association Agreement, de Gucht said.
