Armed attack on Russian embassy provoked by Libyan officer's murder - ministry
MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - An attack by a group of armed militants on the Russian Embassy in Tripoli on Wednesday was provoked by Tuesday's murder of a Libyan officer by a Russian woman, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"According to available information, the aggressive actions against our diplomatic mission were directly provoked by the murder of a Libyan officer by Russian national Yekaterina Dmitriyevna Ustyuzhaninova on October 1 and her infliction of stab wounds on his mother," the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
