Astana to form international consortium for Caspian Basin exploration
ASTANA. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan is proposing the formation of an international energy consortium called Eurasia, Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov said.
"KazEnergy will hold a special round table to discuss the fundamentally new Kazakh project Eurasia," Akhmetov said at the Eurasian Forum KazEnergy in Astana on Tuesday.
The Eurasia project provides for the exploration of deep horizons of the Caspian Basin, both onshore and offshore in Kazakhstan and Russia, a statement issued by KazEnergy says.
