CSTO Parliamentary Assembly delegation to visit Afghanistan

BISHKEK. Oct 8 (Interfax) - A delegation from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly will visit Afghanistan in December to study the domestic political situation.

"Most importantly, this initiative gained support from our Afghan colleagues," State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said at a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council in Bishkek on Tuesday.

The Afghan delegation attended the Council meeting as an observer.

The delegation members will familiarize themselves with the Afghan situation and meet with local parliamentarians and government workers.

"We expect to deepen parliamentary contacts with Afghanistan," Naryshkin said.
