Chief of UK military visits Russia's Tamanskaya Division
MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax-AVN) - A British military delegation led by the Chief of the Defense Staff, Gen. Sir Nick Houghton, paid a visit on Wednesday to the base of the Tamanskaya Motor Rifle Division of the 20th Guards Army of the Western Military District.
"The delegation visited a training site where servicemen were practicing live fire exercises using small arms, RPG-7s, and armaments installed on BTR-80 armored personnel carriers. The British delegates had an opportunity to test out and assess Russian armaments," Western Military District spokesman Col. Oleg Kochetkov told Interfax-AVN.
The visitors were particularly interested in state-of-the-art computerized simulators for training real-time tactical combat control, he said.
