Edward Snowden to meet with his father in Russia on Thursday - lawyer Kucherena

MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Lon Snowden, the father of former NSA employee Edward Snowden, will meet with his son Edward today, Thursday, in Russia, Snowden's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena told Interfax.

"Edward Snowden's meeting with his father will take place already today. How can we restrict Lon Snowden, who has come to Moscow from the U.S.?" Kucherena said.

At the same time, he declined to name the time and venue of the meeting for reasons of his client's security.

Kucherena said also that there would be a press conference to cover the meeting between Lon and Edward Snowden, "but probably not today."

Lon Snowden "will stay in Russia for some time yet," he said.
