Russian foreign minister urges Syrian opposition not to hamper chemical disarmament

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that supporters of the Syrian opposition will refrain from taking any steps capable of disrupting the country's chemical weapons destruction in order to revive discussions on possible foreign intervention in Syria.

"We are hopeful that those who have an immediate influence on different opposition groups will resolutely insist on the unacceptability of any provocations able to disrupt this chemical disarmament and once again trigger discussions of the need for foreign intervention," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in his speech at the East Asia Summit in Brunei.
