Tehran statements indicate good chance for progress in Iranian nuclear problem talks - Russian foreign minister
MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Moscow believes that there is every chance now to move forward in tackling the Iranian nuclear problem.
"Statements made by the new Iranian leadership allow us to presume that we will be able to eventually make some progress in this issue," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in his speech at the East Asia Summit in Brunei.
"I agree with my colleagues regarding the presence of good prospects today to step up our work on the Iranian nuclear problem. We will be actively involved in these efforts," he said.
"The next meeting of the E3+3 group and Iran will be held later this month," the Russian minister said.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will lead Russia's delegation to this meeting, which is expected to take place in Geneva next week.
